Halloween prep part I

I finished the prototype for the Halloween Invitation! It always takes so long to come up with an invitiation idea and becomes more challenging with each passing year. This will be our fourth big Halloween bash (not counting the one we “didn’t” have last year). The first year was little bats made from cardboard and chuppa chupas with little goggly eyes etc … they were really cute. The next waas a series of little pumpkin cards but each one had a different face cut out of them. They were made from copper mettalic paper and backed with black card… we still use some of the extras as decorations. The last party we had little fold up coffins that we placed a scroll tied with a piece of black ribbon in to. They were probably the most popular so far (except for maybe the bats) I may have a pic of them somewhere actually, will have to poke aroun in my files and see.

This year I give you our little spider webby friends :

This guy was done as a mock-up so he is a bit dodge. Constructed from Black card with silver glitter glue used for the 3D type web bits. The little cutie of a spider was made with craft pompoms tiny googley eyes and black beading wire for the legs. I may still stick little beads to each end of the legs to give him little round feet but I am still undecided. Party details etc will be written on the back in metallic pens. Now I just need to make about 30 or more of them, lol.

So that’s what you did to recover from grocery shopping! :) Or had you made him earlier yesterday? ;)

Looks very cool, can’t wait to see him in the flesh, so to speak. I’d offer to help you make those 30 others but I’m afraid I’d just make a mess :)

Very cool!! Do you go nuts with that amazing cob-webby stuff that my cats like to roll in? *rolls her eyes* I guess cat hair gives it a more authentic look. *grins*

Of course there are going to be fairies here… can’t have a girlie party without them! The whole Minnie Mouse ballerina thing is throwing me for a loop, though… I’m gonna have to futz something up myself.

Question… what’s a *scrolls up* chuppa chuppa?? Much less one with googly eyes? Sounds cute to me!

I’m gonna go stitch more *sigh* black… some day I’ll get to stitch some color on my RR… really… some day I will. On that day you’ll hear me cheering all the way down there!

    Hugs!

Fudgey! you read my thoughts. lol
Ever since I saw pumpkin pixie I decided to start her for halloween. The original plan was to start her the day we got our first halloween pumpkins on the vine ( side not for Sue you would no believe how much Halloween pumpkins cost over here as they are different to every other pumpkin we have, or how hard they are to find).

Unfortunately the other week something ate our baby little pumpkin vine… I am not so good in the garden lol. So I will haev to wait another whole year if I wait for the pumpkins, and I can’t have that :p. I plan to put my first stitches in on the 31st of October hehe

I have no idea when I will get time to stitch on her but I can always dream.
