Back in Black

aredhelWell this weekend was the 5th Weekend Daniels / Potts SAL for fudgey and I (and hopefully Sue played along too). I managed over 1000 stitches on Aredhel across the weekend and they were all in Black. I have decided to stitch in the trees first. mostly because I have not had a chance to properly kit up Aredhle yet but also I find the solid stitching goes faster and is quite relaxing. I can make good progress stitch wise in a short amount of time. Since I am only stitching this when a 5th weekend comes along in the month it is nice to still see the piece progress. I also think it will be loads of fun to go back and “fill in ” the details.

Fudgey did the face this weekend and it is gorgeous, completely stunning (pic in her blog , link on the side). There is a period about a year ago maybe more that Micheles charting really hit the mark and the beauty that is captured in these charts is amazing. My progress picture is a little skwewd and a bit fuzzy but you get the idea. I’m growing a tree!

Hey, I go away for a couple of days and I miss the cutest little santa, some gorgeous threads (love that middle green one especially) and a black tree! Oh, and if you like to do those detail ‘fill in’ stitches all in one go at the end, then you really should pull out Scotland again, there’s enjoyment there to be had a plenty … trust me! :lol

Isn’t it soothing stitching all one colour? :)

Oooo, Nic… when you learn how to grow brains, please send me the magical method, will you? Mine went out somewhere and didn’t bother coming back. *makes a goofy face to prove her point*

I love the black… sure looks a lot better than my pathetic blob of 60-some stitches of brown and orange. I tried, I really did! *pouts*

Fudgey’s face is lovely!! I can’t wait to see that pink flower petal skirt of hers, too! I’m sure it’ll be a treat (well, maybe not) to stitch but it will be soooooo pretty!

Love those greens and purples, by the way, Vicky! I saw some of those glow-in-the-dark DMC flosses stitched up at CATS… they were scary looking!

    *HUGS!*
