Adventures in lace knitting

Well here it is my latest finish and it’s actually knitting! It seems knitting projects are things I rarely seem to finish, often because of mistakes that I just can’t face fixing – usually because I have no idea how and the only thing that comes to mind is to rip it all out and start again- Now this project is my no means error free but they are mistakes that I have decided I can live with and shall just leave it at that.
I started this back in January of 2008 after spending my Christmas day 2007 balling up the hank of Knittery royal velvet slim sock I had just gotten.
The yarn was wonderful and is a really beautiful colour, pity a move to the US meant the Knittery has closed down with no sign of starting up again any time soon from the states.

Falling Water - Pre-Blocking

Thanks to Morris and Sons in town having a sale when I walked in there yesterday to get blocking pins I actually came away with a set of blocking wires and pins. This is my first time blocking anything and I learnt a lot.. and will make sure the base I pin to next time is more slid. The scarf probably could of done being blocked larger to make the pattern stand out more but all in all I am really happy with it and can’t wait to wear it the next time winter rolls around.

I’m amazed with how gorgeous the colours turned out on this. You’ve done a fantastic job. Now it just needs to be winter so you have a reason to wear it. :P
