Not too bad finished another column working from the left hand side this week (yes I am late with the update). Makes the total for february between 2100-2200 stitches. Should almost finish page 3 by the end of march *bounce*

February review

Okay so it is the last day of February, time to look at my goals for the month. I will still haev a bit more stitching time on the devil tonight so technically the month isn’t over stitching wise but close enough 🙂
So…..

February Stitcing Goals

~ first and foremost keep to my rotation    Done. I am finding the rotation a great help in keeping me interested in my stitching too which is a nice side effect of being more organised.
~ finish the snow on SBF Finished early enough that I got a week spare and managed to finish off a Whimsical santa panel too 🙂
~ 2000 stitches on Devil  Just over (about 2300)
~ get to 3200 stitches done on St Nick Yep even with losing a weekend
~ at least two sundays stitched on Scotland (1000 sts maybe) <--- this one well.... I started Meta. I did do one weekend on Scotland but really had enough of the pink for a while so I have put her away and will use sundays to get some time in on Meta for the great fishy race. (I got about 1600 stitches into Meta this month) ~ continue fire ACEO for QS-SAL Going along swimmingly most weeks I seem to average 400 stitches.
I have also managed a good portion of nancys RR section too though need to focus a bit more on getting that done now I have most of the colours.
All in all I managed all my goals for February which is pretty surprising maybe for March I should be making grander plans.

Little Nicky

This weeks progress on St Nick totals about 713 stitches since the last update bringing the total number of stitches to 3385 or 2.06%. This equates to roughly half a page, I am hoping by the end of march to have completed page 1 (also hoping to have all the colours by then too).

You can see the little house thing filling in now and the face of the doll. Still so many gaps to fill. I think my aim for the next stitching session on this one will be to get those gaps filled (or at least as many of them as I can) before heading down to the second half of the page.

Ahoy! and Avast!

I’ve been a piraten… well okay I have been at a pirate themed product launch party at Lush. Walking through town all corsetted and dressed like a pirate sure gets more reactions on a saturday night than it used to. I even got free stuff for my costumy efforts at lush… mmm smelly nummy things.

I made quite a haul and have much in the way of sweet smeeling booty to show for the evenings adventures, a good deal of pretties to send southward too *evil grin*. It was good fun, if a tad hot having so many people crammed into the little store but the staff were well into the swing of things and kept the atmosphere light and fun 🙂

I have never been much of a girly girl.. makeup and perfumes etc and I just never seemed to get along, I got some nice smelling all natural products tonight though to try on my skin etc they at least smelt and feel great I think the biggest problem will be remembering to use them… My favourite for the night though was letters to santa which is a bath bomb from the christmas range ( 2 for 1 on sale) it smells of cloves and spices mmmmmmmmmmmmm …. I really do adore the more spicy tones in scents I am still thinking about ordering the Fool scent from Michele at Heaven and Earth the mix of scents listed just sounds devine (as do quite a few of the others especially the Spicy fairy range)

Christmas Whimsy

Well seeing as I finished my goal for Snow Ball Fight last week I decided to work on another of my languising over two projects this friday instead. SBF will back again next week until it is finished, the end is so close now.

The piece I chose to stitch on was the Whimsical Santa Afghan, I started to give as a christmas gift last year. Obviously I never got it finished, things got pretty crazy toward the end of 2005. So last night I pulled out all the threads etc and got back to work on it. I had Panel 5 mostly done and am happy to say that last night I had jsut enough time to finish it (okay I stayed up past 1:30am). This makes 5 panels completed out of the total twelve.
The previous panels can be seen in my old webshots album.Design: Whimsical Santa Afghan from Zweigert, stitched with 4 threads over 2

woops… forgot something

This weeks progress after the QS – SAL
To be perfectly honest this is the only stitching I have done this week and it was only a couple of hundred stitches (if that). Craziness at work and lack of sleep has really knocked my stitching time around which is why there have been none of the usual updates.
anyway… here she is after ummm 6 weeks now I think.

Ch,Ch,Cha, Changes….

*points to the right of the screen* ——>

Over there you may notice a few small changes. One is the addition of a 101 in 1001 list which I will be diligently working through for the next 1001 days, well ok I think it is down to 997 or so now. The other is my currently reading plugin with pretty piccies of the books I am reading (thank you Adam). I will point out however that these titles are sourced from Amazon.com so the cover pictures generally differ from the Australian printings I have (except for guns, germs and steel which I picked up on the way back from Canada recently).

What all these little things mean is that the Blog is changing it is growing… perhaps even has a mind of its own. Well okay maybe that was taking things a bit far. What it certainly does mean though is that this here blog is not just a stiching blog anymore. More than likely it will probably continue to contain nostly posts about stitching and my current wips, but occasionally general prattle and random sillyness may also squeeze ists way in. In fact there may even be the occasional post containing something of substance but if I were you I wouldn’t be holding my breath for that one.

Snow Dancing

*bounce* I finished my February goal for snow ball fight. Last night I managed to finish all the snow cover on the ground. It doesn’t look like much but it was. I had to go back and do the two other shades of grey at the base of the snowman and dragon etc too. It’s all done now and I even put a few stitches into the tail of the second dragon.

Seeing as I have met my monthly goal for this it will take a rest from the rotation next week so I can work on one of the whimsical santas or rose of sharon. He will be coming back in march though and hopefully I will be able to finish it then *boogie*

The piccie is really washed out… that is what I get for doing colour adjustments on a really dark monitor. I could change it but I am too lazy :p maybe sometimes later I will get around to it, but really I doubt it.

Stashing the day away

Okay for various reasons … some work related some dealing with my personal life I have been feeling really blerghy. This means retail therapy usually and typically that means the sort of instant gratification one can only get from HAEDs. Today however, I broke the trend and branched out in stash acquisition.

This is mainly due to there not really being a great deal that I am wanting as far as HAED charts are concerned. There are a few I still need to get to fill some holes, and really i did a little of that earlier in the week when I got the Larry McDougall ones Witch Path and the Pumpkin Dealer.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from ABC stitch Therapy, mostly new releases from the Nashville show, small designs that I have ideas of stitching for other people or just cute dragons that I couldn’t resist 🙂 I was also really naughty and bought some 40ct linen from silkweaver, two of the new limited releases (Geaorgia Clay and Atlantic Storm) and also a piece of antique white for me to try a HAED on.

So all in all I did quite well on my little shopping spree I got:

Black Masquerade by Mystic Stitch, Be wise and Love Yourself from Xs and Oh’s and lastly a couple of Dragon dreams designs Messy but mine and Proof.

More updates

I promise to write something in here other than updates … well maybe. Never have been that good at diaries / blogs my complete lack of updates on my lj can attest to that at least.

Getting back on topic though yest another wip update… this time the Devil. Although I am meant to have this as my focus piece in my rotation (3 days instead of only 1 for everything else) It seems to be the piece that gets the least stitchy time. Mon, Tues and Thurs nights always seem to be busy. In essence what this means is that between these three nights I get about the same time to stitch on the Devil as I am stitching on anything else… not really a focus piece then hehe.

This week I got in 800+ stitches which completed the next column of 10 to the right of last weeks prgress and a little more. The pic is a tad dark and the colours really aren’t true to life but you get the idea.
