QS Wednesday

Well I treated myself to an early night home last night (about 6ish) and settled in with my draggie. I need to get moving on him so I can start the little Pirate guy if he gets released and the little merdraggy too (thank you miss Fudgey) but neither will be started until this guy is finished. One of my HAED goals for 2007 was to finish a QS either this one or fire. Some how I think this guy has more chance even with the fact that he is still about a page behind where I last left Fire. HE has suckered me in though and it also helps that I am not stithcing this 2×1 on 25ct 🙂

Since my last posted update I have done probably 900 stitches… I did take a picture earlier in march but forgot to upload it so I can’t even backdate my last progress pick.

This time around I reached the bottom of page 1! it was all background though withno more progress on his cute little snout this week. I think I will get back to that next week though. I am trying to alternate between the high detail areas and the background.

Photo Hunt Take 11: – Technology

Being a Chemist by trade I am often dealing with all sorts of gadgets and technology on a daily basis. Most of it seems mundane and everday or in the case of this photo reminds me of how downright tedious some of the tasks I have to perform are. This is a macro shot of the injection port on the HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) machine I use in the lab. I shudder to think how many hundres of injections I have put through this machine let alone the number of hours I have sat in front of it wishing I could have it go faster.

SAL challenge for March

Okay so I didn’t get this posted last night like I thought I would. I have an attack of the guilts and ended up coming back into work until 1am.
I didn’t get that much done on her again this month, with only one day really available to stitch on her over the SAL time frame. All in all I think it was about 500 stitches again but I didn’t count :p
The shading on this chart is amazing and is managing to keep that subtle beauty that I love so much in this piece of art.

Beware the impending flood

…of posts that is.
have been a bad blogger , it is not that I haven’t had things to blog about, more that I haven’t had time to do it. I have a solution though even if it really is cheating. I plan to post all the posts that are missing from the past two weeks and backdate them to when they shoudl have appeared.

So if you visit here and see a glut of posts that you swear weren’t there before you’re probably right.

This all hinges on me actually egtting the time adn inclination to get all this sorted out of course :p

I do promise to post the progress from this weekends SAL challenge when i get home tonight though, especually seeing as I haev made an executive decision to not stay back here until  10pm tonight.

February Review and Goals for March

Ok lets review how I went with Feb and seehow silly I can make things for March.

February Goals

  1. At least two circles on cirques and a few filler spots  Success! I love how easy this design is to stitch I usually only get a day or two on it a month and it is still progressing nicely.
  2. Get the Round Robin sent off and start on a section of Sues Yep. Though my start on Sues only equates to about 20 or 30 stitches
  3. Ornament SAL (complete the small ornament I started and finishing frogging on the larger one) I managed this too though the frogging the larger one I had started has turned into choosing a different fabric. I also started and almost finished a secret ornie sized piece too.
  4. Quick Stitch Wed participate at least twice (get at least 500 stitches into a QS) Sure did I think I only did manage to stitch on him twice over the month but I got over 400 stitches in each time.
  5. HAED Challenge SAL: Return of Spring Yep .. slowly but surely she is growing.
  6. Stitch on Japanese Garden Not a lot but I did start putting in the colour I was originally missing from the Tori gate
  7. 1000 stitches in Violet Sometimes Yes 😀
  8. Continue with St Nick SAL: on tues and post pic again at the end of the month  Yes (pic posted on the BB not a lot of progress though)

Wow I thought my goals would be a struggle for Feb but they have been blitzed. I also restarted Hermit for the CC on 3 SAL so all in all I think I had a fabulous stitching month. Now for march.

March Goals

  1. Return of Spring for the SAL Challenge
  2. QS Wed  participate at least 3 times  try for 1500 stitches in total
  3. Violet Sometimes 1000 stitches and bobbin all the thread for her
  4. CC on 3 SAL with Hermit at least 500 stitches
  5. Get to the 75% mark at least with Sues RR
  6. Ornament SAL start on one of the Name trees I have to do and do the finishing on the ornaments I have completed so far.
  7. Stitch on Japanese Garden
  8. Cirques one small circle and the first of the large circles (eep!)
  9. Last but not least pull out aredhel for the 5th Weekend Potts /Daniels SAL
